about

Photography provides me with a distinct way to pay attention, to connect with the world around me in an intimate conversation. Sometimes, I understand why I am taking an image, but oftentimes it is not until later. An example of this is my repeated image of the female torso. I believe this is about my struggle to reconcile the paradox of vulnerability/strength and the sacred/profane inherent in being alive. I have also experienced epiphanies when creating images. It is as if they are talking back to me, expressing some truth I’m coming to understand.
